CXC Global are working with their client in searching for 2 Data Quality Analysts for a 6 month contract.

This is remote working however you will be required to travel to one of these locations once a month;

Caxton House London, Kings Court Sheffield, Peel Park Blackpool, Longbenton Newcastle, Quarry House Leeds, Manchester

In support of the Insight & Performance Programme, the DWP Data Quality Centre of Excellence is currently engaged in some critical data quality analysis of critical KPI data relating to leading public front line public services, such as State Pensions and Universal Credit. These roles will join established teams to:

  • Undertake data and data quality analysis as required;
  • Identify key stakeholders and proactively engage them, building positive, collaborative relationships;
  • Identify the critical data which contributes to the key performance measures for these key services;
  • Assess the quality of source data;
  • Research and establish the root causes of any DQ issues identified;
  • Lead and drive the collaborative effort to implement remedial actions;
  • Participate in or lead the investigation and resolution of other data quality initiatives as required;
  • Take ownership of, lead and manage the initial assessment and triage of data quality issues;
  • Undertake effective, accurate and timely logging and reporting;
  • Work independently and consultatively;
  • Provide education and technical support to others;
  • Make a positive contribution to the efficiency and maturity of the Data Quality Centre of Excellence; and
  • Demonstrate the core Department’s core values.

Technical Skills required

  • Some exposure to Data Analysis work, data science or other similar (desirable)
  • Some previous experience (and clear understanding) of issue investigation, Root Cause Analysis and implementation of remedial actions at source (e.g. in Incident or Problem Management); thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Powerpoint; and
  • SQL, Python, other coding expertise, or experience of other data analysis toolsets (desirable but not essential); and
  • Any other experience of working with data sets, or IT live service implementation or support, will be helpful.

Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Some exposure to Data Analysis work, data science or other similar (desirable);
  • Previous demonstrable experience of issue investigation, Root Cause Analysis and implementation of remedial actions (e.g. in Incident or Problem Management);
  • Experience and some demonstrable success in stakeholder engagement and communications;
  • Experience of working collaboratively to solve problems;
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills;
  • Clear and concise report writing and documentation skills;
  • Inquisitive thinker; and
  • A proactive ‘can do’ approach;

Other:

  • Knowledge of Data Quality frameworks (desirable);
  • Knowledge of Data Governance practices (desirable); and
  • Proactive self-starter.

Job Type: Temporary contract
